Ruling issued in Grand Lodge of Ohio court case
Brethren
Freemason for Dummies has posted an article indicating that there has been a summary judgement in the Grand Lodge of Ohio case against Halcyon lodge.
The details can be read here
While this case is VERY different from our cause, it is just another indication that the courts are quite willing to look at masonic law and render a decision.
Regardless of the disinformation that is currently being spread, the civil court is the next step when an organization oversteps its authority and refuses to follow its own rules.

To clarify, it does not say the Grand Lodge of Ohio has "lost" the case. The court has granted summary judgement, dropping all of Halcyon's officers from the suit, and all claims by the Grand Lodge were dismissed except for questions regarding "personal property Masonic in nature and unpaid dues."
Those are some heavy hits against the Grand Lodge of Ohio, but the court case itself has not been technically "lost," as I read that post. Let us be factually correct.

Spartacus,
I will correct the article to reflect the true information. I apologize for any misrepresentation.

It's over Johnny.
It's over!
It ruled the GLoO had no standing in this suit.
Officers and brethren followed the rules.
This means that a GL cannot act without being checked.
The GLoO thought they could do whatever they wanted, even outside their own rules, but found out otherwise.
I'm not one to argue over semantics.

Ephesians 6: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
The Men of Halcyon did just this!

So much for "upholding the laws, rules, and regulations" of the GLoO.
Have fun with your ill-gotten gains, Halcyon.

Apparently a neutral judge found them to have upheld the laws, rules and regulations!
That was why the judge cleared them, they DID follow the rules. It was apparent that the GLoO did not read their own rules too closely before trying to sue individual masons and a charity. I am sure all the money the GLoO spent could have been put to better use!
So, the gains of Hlacyon are not ill-gotten as you would like to claim.
just like the GLoO's yearly communications, labeling the men of Halcyon as thieves and frauds! Which were false statements to be put out to all the Lodges?
What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
A Masonic Grand Lodge themselves refused to acknowledge a basic American Right and Principle that Freemasons died for: Innocent until proven Guilty!
How could masons have fallen so low to not even want to see this basic tenet upheld?
No law rule or edict should interfere with ones duty to COUNTRY: Innocent Until Proven Guilty!
When did masons stop caring about others and become so Myopic?
