Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
Psalm 122
A Song of degrees of David:
I was glad when they said unto me:
'Let us go unto the House of the Lord'.
When our feet stood within thy gates, O Jerusalem;
O Jerusalem, built as a city that is united together;
For there the tribes went up, the tribes of the Lord,
as a testimony of Israel,
to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.
For there are set thrones of judgement,
the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
they that love thee shall prosper.
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will say now,
peace be within thee.
For the sake of the House of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
Brethren,
May this Christmas Season bring you great joy and happiness!
May the New Year bring unity and healing!
Merry Christmas!

More of an Old Man's Thoughts
Regarding the Messiah Post:
The poster is correct there will be no white knight from outside of our Grand Lodge. The powers that be will fight to the very end to retain their death grip on Masonry in West Virginia. As I've made special effort to return to Lodge more frequently than age has recently allowed,

There is no Messiah
Brethren
This is a response to questions being asked in the comment section that are valid, tough and honest questions. Questions that deserve an answer. The questions can be reduced to a simple “How do WE fix this?”
I am only one Mason and speaking here for only for myself. There are others here who may agree or disagree with what I am writing and espousing. That is ok. They are still my brothers even though we may not agree.
The things I know:
1. There is no Messiah. We should not be waiting for someone to rise up and save us. We need to save ourselves. (More)

The world still continues to watch!
Brethren
Two of the more popular Masonic Blogs continue to cover our problems in West Virginia. It is interesting to note how the rest of the world quickly notices how backwards and repressive we are. The general feeling is that we have lost the spirit of Masonry and have become the laughing stock of the Masonic World. If you read here, you owe it to yourself to check these sites out. They will give you a clear indication of world opinion. (More)

MW Frank Haas PGM MPS chosen as the speaker for the Annual Philalethes Feast during Masonic Week
Petty Tyranny Gave Birth To The Philalethes Society.
Some Masonic leaders, "dressed in a little brief authority," had attempted to inhibit the spread of truth. They had attacked, in many cases successfully the publishing of the written word. They had endeavored to warp the minds of the greatest intellectuals in Freemasonry.
It was because of this tyranny that six men were brought together who had long been interested in researching and preserving the history of Freemasonry. Much that they had discovered and recorded had been condemned by some of the Masonic leaders of the day. These writers and editors had destroyed many of the favorite myths of some of their overly-enthusiastic predecessors. This hadn't endeared them to many of those who held Masonic authority at the time.
Thus the Philalethes Society was formed on October 1, 1928, by those 6 American Masonic students. It has often been called "the oldest, largest, and most successful Masonic Research body in the United States”, but its members now includes Master Masons from recognized Masonic Lodges throughout the world. It was designed for Freemasons "who seek light or have light to impart”, and its sole purpose is to act as a clearing house for Masonic knowledge. It exchanges ideas, researches problems confronting Freemasonry, and passes them along to the Masonic world. The name Philalethes is a Greek word meaning "lover of truth”, and is pronounced fill-a-lay-thees, with the accent on the third syllable.

History Rewritten?
Those who would repeat the past must control the teaching of
history.
- Frank
Herbert
Brethren
A poster here has noticed that MW Haas has been removed from
the list of Past Grand Masters on the Grand Lodge Website. Again you are living
in historic times here in West Virginia. You are witnessing history being
rewritten! Subtle (and not so subtle) changes to history is a method most despotic
rulers employ. They gain a false sense of justification and often believe that
they are justified in carving at the truth. It strengthens their belief of
moral superiority. Future generations will not know the real truth.
Once again the wolves are adding another method to leading
the sheep.
I hope the Grand Master feels safer now that PGM Haas is no
longer listed……..

The issue of Probation
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." Declaration of Independence - 1776
Brethren
Recently we have seen unjustified expulsion of two faithful brethren. While this is indeed a tragedy, another injustice was perpetrated with those edicts. Wellsburg Lodge #2 was placed on “probation”. This is a vindictive act against Wellsburg Lodge for supporting MW Haas. The letter from the Grand Master indicated it was for "not preferring charges against PGM Haas". When did the Grand Master request that charges be brought against MW Haas? Is there any documentation to support that this request was made? Our laws clearly allow the Grand Master the power of requesting that a trial be held. A second problem is that the 15th edition of the Laws of Masonry does not contain any description of placing a lodge on probation, as a power of the Grand Master! In fact a search of the PDF version shows that the word “probation” appears only once in the entire book and that instance refers to orphans at the Masonic Home. It appears that the Grand Master is now in the business of creating new law. Sadly history has shown us that the Jurisprudence committee will rubber stamp his action, a precedent will be set and a new law born!
The quote at the top of this article is taken from the Declaration of Independence, that magnificent document that speaks of a situation that we are facing now. Despotism. We are now learning that as West Virginia Masons, we are limited to what we can say, read or view on the internet. Does the Grand Master really think he can control the internet in West Virginia? I would direct him to study the Peoples Republic of China and their struggles with the same issue. To date they still struggle with free thinking people’s access. The genie is out of the bottle. The brethren of West Virginia will soon find ”It is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
